Lyon County is accepting applications to acquire an eligibility list for the position of a full-time Correctional Officer and a part-time Dispatch. The eligibility list will be maintained for a maximum of one year to fill any future openings.  Minimum Qualifications Include: High school diploma required; valid driver’s license, with a minimum of six months experience in security or law enforcement; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Lyon County is accepting applications for Parks Manager

 

The purpose of this position is to supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of the Lyon County Parks as well as the Lyon County Fairground property. Duties include, but are not limited to: supervising staff; delegating work; preparing plans of operation; preparing budgets for the Parks Program; attending meetings; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Public Works Director. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Park Management, Natural Resources Management, or related field required; with a minimum of two years’ experience in park management, natural resources, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Additional licensure/certification requirements or ability to obtain within one year of hire; Tree Inspection, Pesticide Application, First Responder, and CDL Class B licensure.  Position is full-time/exempt with an annual salary between $40,341.39 –$ 56,473.66, offering a full benefit package. On Call General Equipment Operator PDF Print
The on call general equipment operator position will be required to operate a variety of equipment used in the repair and maintenance of highways and related areas for Lyon County.  Duties include, but are not limited to: operating specialized equipment; performing manual labor; performing preventative maintenance; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Foreman.
